World Braille Usage

Information on the Third Edition

The third edition of World Braille Usage [PDF] includes 133 languages that have been transcribed into 137 different braille alphabet and punctuation codes, and represents 142 countries. It has been made possible by hundreds of people who use and produce braille throughout the world, and captures a new perspective on the global use of braille.

Position Papers

Education For All

To contribute to discussions on education reform, Perkins International released a position paper entitled "Advancing Education for All Children who are Blind or Visually Impaired with Multiple Disabilities."

DB-Link: Resources on Deafblindness

DB-Link is a leading resource for literature on deafblindness. A joint project between Perkins and Teaching Research of Western Oregon University, DB-Link is a clearinghouse of information for parents and professionals, including an online bibliographic database for users to browse, fact sheets on deafblindness, and the ability for users to send inquiries and receive references for appropriate literature.
