Perkins International believes knowledge is most powerful when it is shared and that access to information is essential to empowering people with disabilities, their families, and professionals in the field.
To that end, we are pleased to offer the following resources and materials.
World Braille Usage
The third edition of World Braille Usage [PDF] includes 133 languages that have been transcribed into 137 different braille alphabet and punctuation codes, and represents 142 countries. It has been made possible by hundreds of people who use and produce braille throughout the world, and captures a new perspective on the global use of braille.
Education For All
To contribute to discussions on education reform, Perkins International released a position paper entitled "Advancing Education for All Children who are Blind or Visually Impaired with Multiple Disabilities."
Download English and French versions of keynote addresses and papers presented during the 5th Africa Forum, the continent's largest-ever gathering in the blindness field.
Assistive Technology Tools for Independence
In addition to the Perkins Brailler®, we offer a broad spectrum of high- and low-tech devices to improve independence at home, at work, and at school. We also partner with associations for the blind, ministries of education, and resellers around the globe in an effort to provide accessible equipment to all who need it.
